UHAS goes to the polls

CAMPUS RADIO GHANA 23/03/2018

UHAS goes to the polls

It's Friday the 23rd of March, 2018, the limelight is on Philip Hanson and Asare Derrrick as students of the University of Health and Allied Sciences set out to elect the next set of leaders to champion the affairs of the SRC and lead students to pastures green.

The Federal governance system was adopted by the SRC only last year but the Federal Presidency position has already profited well-heeled history of tempestuous competition.

Campus Radio Ghana has conducted an opinion poll on the election today and currently with about 120 votes casted on the Campus Radio Ghana twitter handle, Asare Derrrick and Philip Hanson share the spoils in a 48-52 balance.

Will these results reflect on the election proper, allow history to take it's course and push the election farther to a round off? One would recall that Hon. Afrane Pious, the current UHAS-SRC president only won the election in a dog-eat-dog round off with Aidam Kizito of the School of Public Health.

Having tested positive to the litmus test in the recent NAMSA elections, the new electronic voting system is expected to respond in a similar fashion in this elections. Students are concerned about the reliability and integrity of the newly adopted voting system, but are we going to have a facsimile of the success story the e-voting had written in the NAMSA elections?. Is Pap J's claim that the EC cannot do their job going to hold?. I guess we'll have to wait till the final hour, when voting has ended to verily know for sure.

Are we for the first time going to experience an unopposed candidate voted no by the majority?. Be with us on UHAS CONNECT, UHAS connect Annex on Whatsapp and @campusradiogha on twitter as we bring you feeds from the polling stations at Sokode, Trafalgar, Defiat, SRC hostel, Defiat hostel and Dave on Ho campus and Binka hall, hostels 4 and 5 on Hohoe campus.

Have you verified your inclusion in the e-system's database and confirmed your right to vote is intact?. Do not forget, Voting is your right, same as it is your responsibility.
