Happy 61st anniversary to Ghana; Let's shoulder the black star of hope for Ghana and for Africa
On this day in 1957, Ghanaians were drowned in an overwhelming feeling of elation and delight that accompanied the words of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory; "at long last, the battle has ended and our beloved country, is free forever". It was a new dawn of hope for our motherland. We were free to supervise our own affairs without any external guidance, control or prerogative.
Today, Ghana is 61, and everything we are is a consequence of political instability, corruption and many other negatives that have daunted our quest to thrive. Simultaneously, there are many other forces that ignite our pride as Ghanaians and Africans today, especially our conscience to live in peace.
Regardless, everything we are as a country today is something we can hold pride in because we have the strongest weapon to flourish in hope. And to effect the tomorrow we hope for, we must change to make this blessed nation great and strong, and be bold to defend it forever. When you pray, recite the national anthem, and ask God to fill your heart with humility and honesty. the When you go to work, remember you are the yellow that glows on the national flag and shoulder the black star of hope for Ghana and for Africa.
