Displeased students to sue PHSA EC if...
The Electoral Commission of the Public Health Students Association (PHSA) of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) will come under scrutiny in court should they refuse to come out to clearly explain to the student electorates on their new move to use an electronic voting platform in the upcoming PHSA elections.
Two final year students, Mr. Osei Bright, and Mr. Agbo Victor, the leader of the Sanitation Committee on Hohoe Campus were peeved by the EC's ineptitude in ensuring that electorates were intensively sensitised on the new voting arrangements. According to them, the Electoral Commission didn't inform the students on the adoption of e-voting for the elections.
They mentioned amongst other things that the PHSA constitution must be subjected to Ghana's constitution and as part of the responsibilities of the EC, the electorates must be educated on any electoral reforms the commission undergoes.
They added that the ignorance of the E-voting system is likely to disenfranchise some students which is unconstitutional. The duo explained that they are going to take this action to make sure the institutions are accountable to students and transparent in their operations.
They told Campus Radio Ghana that student leadership is a learning environment to give students the opportunity to prepare themselves to take up leadership positions in the future and so, doing things right should begin from here.
Mr. Agbo Victor also registered his displeasure on the upcoming PHSA Awards and dinner. He disagreed with the fact that the Awards Committee Chairman, Hon. Joel Torvike is a nominee and for that matter, the integrity of the Awards can be grossly compromised.
He believed that some students have lost interest in the whole nomination process and it will heighten speculations.

I find Mr Victor Agbo's comment on the Award Committee Chair getting nominated to have compromised the integrity of the awards as a sign of gross ignorance in events organization. I've seen stars like Dj Khaled play roles in the organization of the BET HipHop awards and hosted the same program and was also nominated but we don't stand on such grounds and say the event's integrity is compromised because he deserves to be nominated. So is the story of Hon. Torvike. I personally think he deserves it and the integrity of the award is still intact.
