✳GDSA-UHAS to launch annual week celebration
The Ghana Dietetics Students' Association (GDSA)-UHAS Chapter, is set to embark on its annual week celebration due to be launched on Monday, 12th February, 2018. This year's event, dubbed "The prospects and Influence of the Allied Health Professional" is organized in collaboration with the UHAS SRC and will run from the 12th of February, 2018 to the 18th of February, 2018.
Speaking to Campus Radio correspondent Miss Awurama Sika Ansah, the President of GDSA-UHAS, Mr. Aziz Walter Edem, revealed that dietetics plays a very essential role in the field of medicine and goes far beyond the "cooking" mentality that most people associate the program with.
The GDSA week celebration is expected to be a grand occasion; one that shall be the first of its kind to hit the soil of UHAS.
Massive preparations are being made and the program line up has a lot of activities in stock that no student would want to miss. A lot of dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion. Key among them is the Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS), who will officially launch the program on the 12th of February, 2018.
The entire program is outlined as follows:
✳Monday, 12/02/2018: launching, followed by a symposium on career building/investment packages for students
✳Tuesday, 13/02/2018: Quiz competition
✳Wednesday, 14/02/2018: Valz Talk
✳Thursday, 15/02/2018: Health outreach ( at Adaklu)
✳Friday, 16/02/2018: Lecture on the misconception of consuming cholesterol-containing foods.
✳Saturday, 17/02/2018: Trip to Tsarley Korpey Beach Resort at Ada
✳Sunday, 18/02/2018: Thanksgiving service in collaboration with APOSA-UHAS.
Mr. Walter laid emphasis on the Valz Talk which is dubbed "what has love got to do with it" as the big program which is open to everyone. Happening live at the Trafalgar auditorium on Valentine's day, the program will be spearheaded by a couple who are well-endowed with knowledge in matters relating to relationship and dating on campus and no student would want to miss out as they share their experiences and knowledge to the youth.
He added that there will be free HIV/AIDS screening for everyone which would be proudly sponsored by the Ghana AIDS Commission.
The program is organized in collaboration with UHAS SRC to get all students involved in this life-changing event. GDSA-UHAS therefore would be very much honored to have every student on board to make the program a memorable one. Save the date and make time to join this grand celebration.
