2018 PASAG elections ends in a run-off; who becomes the next PASAG president?
The 2018 elections of the Physician Assistantship Students' Association of Ghana(PASAG), UHAS chapter took place yesterday, 27th April, 2018, as planned. The election, which was organized at the Trafalgar Campus-Ho, by the PASAG Electoral Commission, led by Mr. Nanam Amenyedu as its chairperson, was a memorable success which ended on a peaceful note around 4:30pm in the evening.
Speaking to Campus Radio correspondent, Mr. Foli Christian, Mr. Nanam expressed his satisfaction about the massive turnout of the electorate and soothing cooperation of the electoral officials. He further added that his expectations for a smooth, free and fair election was met.
One hundred and sixty seven (167) people turned up to vote. The results for the election were declared by the Electoral Commissioner at the end of the process. The breakdown is as follows:

84.34% of the expected electorate

Total votes cast: 167
Total Number of YES votes: 151
Total Number of NO votes: 10
Rejected: 6
EBENEZER MAKAFUI ADJIDO becomes Vice President Elect for PASAG

Total Number of YES votes: 152
Total Number of NO votes: 5
Rejected: 10
BERNARD GYAMPO YEBOAH becomes General Secretary elect for PASAG.
PRESIDENTIAL RESULTS
TOTAL VOTES CAST: 167
1 SAMUEL AGYEI: 34 Votes representing 20.36%
2 EBENEZER BLANKSON: 65 Votes representing 38.92%
3 PRINCE KPLORLA HOTORWOVI: 66 Votes representing 39 52%
REJECTED: 2 Votes representing 1.19%
Now, per the Constitution and with the failure of any of the candidates to achieve the required 50% + 1 votes needed to win the presidential polls outright, there will be a run off scheduled forMonday, April 30th 2018 between Ebenezer Blankson and Prince Kplorla Hotorwovi.
Mr. Nanam finally expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his deputy, Mr. Asemdi Prince and PASAG PRO, Mr. Eric Ashiabi, the outgoing PASAG executives and all those that turned up to make the election a success. He further entreated their unfailing support come Monday, to finish up what they started.
