The University of Health and Allied Sciences branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party has over the few weeks been campaigning in favour of the free Senior High School (SHS) introduced two years ago by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo and his administration.

The group, better known as, TESCON-UHAS, climaxed the campaign last Sunday, 17th November, 2018 by launching 10, 000 exercise books under the theme, "Free SHS is here to stay". This exercise books, as explained by the president of the group, Mr. Clinton Addo, will be distributed to some selected schools across the Volta region. He noted that two schools from the proposed Oti Region will also be beneficiaries of this initiative. TESCON-UHAS believes that, through this supports, the party will stay in power beyond 8 years.
"It is our interest as Volta TESCON for the NPP government to be in power beyond eight (8) years.

There's therefore the need to support the government in our small ways to make the people have trust in the government. We also want to play our role in ensuring free, quality and equity secondary education".

The program saw a number of party faithfuls troop to the auditorium of UHAS. The energy minister of the country, Hon. Peter Amewu who was also at the launching ceremony, donated an amount of the GHC 15000 to the TESCON branch of the three tertiary schools; Ho Nursing Training College , Ho Technical University and University Of Health and Allied Sciences.
