Candidate Who Promised ‘One-Student One-Laptop’ has Been Elected as GIJ SRC President

Mr. Emmanuel Kumah has been elected as President with Mr. Joshua Abgenu as vice president of the students body of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) for the 2018/2019 academic year.

The 2018 Ghana Institute of Journalism SRC election came off on April 30, 2018 for the Regular Students after it was held on Saturday April, 29 for the Weekend school.

Prior to his election as president, Mr. Kuma was very optimistic on fulfilling five key point promises including making sure that every single student gets a laptop by the year 2021. This policy might have influenced the decision of many GIJ students to vote for him massively as their next SRC president since they really wish that policy will finally be implemented by him and successive  administration.

Voter turnout for both days of election was generally impressive as over 2,000 electorates, out of the about 3,000 registered voters, exercised their franchise.
