Volta Regional Hospital, Trafalgar grants privileges to UHAS Students

A letter written to the Volta Regional Hospital administation by the SRC Sanitation and Health Committee led by Mr. Asirifi Gunu to the aforementioned institution has been approved. The letter, written on behalf of the entire student population appealed for students to be given special privileges in attention and treatment when they visit the hospital to seek medical care.

This appeal was inspired by the tight schedules students have to put up with, skipping lectures and even quizzes which sometimes were worrying considering the symbiotic relationship between the school and the hospital. The following are the privileges students are expected to enjoy from the hospital, after their identities as students have been confirmed by the hospital staff:

1. Students shall be exempted from following queues

2. In the event that they are admitted, students shall be assigned to special wards where they will receive special care as would be given to the hospital staff.

3. Students shall also be supported as health students to help in their activities as students aspiring to be great health professionals and contribute to the good works of the Volta Regional Hospital.

Speaking to Campus Radio Ghana in an exclusive interview, Mr. Asirifi Isaac explained that his Committee had initially reached a verbal agreement with the hospital but the application and approval letters were necessary for record keeping and reference in the future. He further encouraged students to always take their student ID cards along whenever they are visiting the hospital.
