Rotaract Ghana Zone E to embark on ‘’Plant A Tree Project’’ on UHAS-Hohoe Campus
The Zone E of Rotaract clubs in Ghana, led by Rotaractor President Baah have identified the School of Public Health, Hohoe campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences as a place convenient for executing the "plant a tree project" amongst other selected places within the Hohoe Municipality.
This project is in response to a call made by the Rotary International (RI) through the 2017/2018 RI President, Ian H. S. Riseley.
He calls on all Rotarians and Rotaractors to take strides in combating the deadly problem of environmental ruin by adapting measures which will lead to meeting the goal of planting 1.2 million trees across the globe before April 22, 2018.
The initiative is outside the six (6) areas of Rotary's focus. However, it has been adopted by the current RI President as having an inordinate impact on climate change and world existence thus challenge every Rotarian and other partners in service to plant a tree in his tenure.
The Rotaract clubs in Ghana which are divided into five zones; thus Zone A to Zone E are each expected to plant 50 seedlings of ornamental plants at places suitable for the set objective.
The exercise will commence on Tuesday, 6th of March, 2018 as part of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Rotaract around the world.
At the school of Public Health - Hohoe Campus, the project is set to last for three hours starting from 8:00am to 11:00am come Tuesday. In attendance will be representatives from all Rotaract clubs in Zone E.
The general public and the entire student populace of the School of Public Health are invited to join in the quest of Rotaract Ghana Zone E to combating this scourge of environmental dilapidation.
