At a mini handing over ceremony with the Assemblies of God Church, a container which will now serve as his new home was handed over to him.
According to recent statistics, 10% of the Ghanaian population are people living with disabilities (PWD). Disabled people are still treated with dejection and socially maligned.
On the 25th of September, 2018, a couple of young men led by Mr. Divine Kporha discovered the appalling situation Mr. Evans Kove found himself on the Volta Regional Hospital road with a canopy as his shade which doubles as his place of residence and workplace.
The disabled man is a bicycle repairer and recounted his ordeal with snakes and other reptiles during the rainy seasons. He has being the food for mosquitoes as he suffered episodes of malaria as a result of the dilapidated structure he was previously residing in.
Divine Kporha and his friends mobilized support through civil societies, philanthropists, corporate organizations amongst others to assist Mr. Kove to put a smile on his face. Within a space of one week, a positive feedback came through from all these sources and the structure was finally put up.
It was all joy yesterday as the beneficiary expressed his gratitude to every single one of them who made it possible for him to have a new home.
Mr. Kporha also thanked the Assemblies of God Church, the Ho Municipal Assembly and the Social Welfare for their efforts in the commencement of the project up to its completion.
