UG Decides Today -Who takes Over The SRC Top Job From Daniel Otting Awuah?

The student body of the University of Ghana will today Monday, April 23, 2018 go to the polls to elect a new executive body for its SRC.

This election will see who takes over from the Daniel Otting Awuah led administration.

The election was initially set to come off on Thursday, April 19 but was called off by the Electoral Commission of the SRC upon the advice of the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Francis Nunoo.

According to Prof. Nunoo, the earlier postponements were necessary due to the “insecurity created by aspirants [by] massing up around the SRC building” and the discontentment of the aspirants with some issues related to the election.

Ahead of today’s elections, some have shared their fears that turnouts may be at a record low, considering the challenges the EC faced ahead of the elections.

This year’s election will have five persons vying for the presidential office, 2 for the General Secretary position and 1, running unopposed for the Treasurer position.

Below are the candidates in the order they appear on the ballot sheet in tomorrow’s election.
