Campus Radio Ghana is back on her feet, this time stronger - new MD assures
The changing times and trends in the media space has necessitated the leadership of visionary media icons and personalities to steer the affairs of the media firm in the quest to stand out strongly and be a trailblazer.
Campus Radio Ghana since its inception has had its fair share of committed leaders taking turns to push the firm to the pinnacle. The -co-founders, Mr. Odame Raphael and Mr. Atsu Theodore Newton both started from the scratch with weekly stories on events in and around campus.
The baton was handed over to Mr. Raphael Kwabena Angmortey who was initially assisted by Richard Mawunyo Dartey. The news agency experienced a magnificent transformation as the activities were taken to a higher platform, social media. The first blog site which later assumed the status of a website was during his tenure. A well structured team was built for the various divisions in the firm to enhance the output and widen our coverage. We were privileged to design our flagship program dubbed Success Drive which was widely successful as the numbers and participation were impressive.
Our successor, Mr. Henry Dade Prosper popularly known as "Understand" came in with fresh energy to revitalize the firm. His approach was drastic and the desired results were obtained. The media network was dormant at the time and he was the spark that ignited the enthusiasm. During his tenure, we had members holding positions and playing key roles in Campus Radio Ghana. Success Drive show was given a facelift as followership increased substantively and the Midwives Corner modified into Health Dial.
It is a brand new day in our news hub for the fact that we have our newest Managing Director, Mr. Christian Foli. As someone who has experience in news reporting from his high school, Campus Radio Ghana became a viable platform to nurture his skills and expertise in journalism. Mr. Foli has committed himself to long hours of work that is required of every staff in the organization.
In an exclusive interview with Mr. Foli, he revealed that his joy being appointed Managing Director was short lived as the reality of a greater responsibility hit him.
According to him, Campus Radio Ghana has evolved over the years since he joined and sees his new role as a greater responsibility he must execute to take the media network to the next level.
The final year Physician Assistant student has disclosed his intentions to decentralize power to enable the leaders on various campuses work effectively and closely.
He has promised to overhaul the organization and get rid of inactive staff members. "Flashing out the "nuisances" in the firm who are contributing nothing to our progress and recruiting a team of workable and committed journalists", he said.
Campus Radio Ghana has slipped under the radar for a while now and followers and news readers are asking many questions. Technical hitches that staggered our progress have been resolved and work will commence again.
"Campus Radio Ghana is back on her feet, this time stronger, and we are here at your doorsteps with credible news, to satisfy your thirst for updates on what's been going on. We only require of you your cooperation and support in any form. We are here for the people, so all should watch out", he concluded.
